Auto Pavilion Repair
Customer: State of Michigan
Location: Michigan State Fair Grounds, Detroit, Michigan
Problem: Concrete was in an advanced state of deterioration in the 56 year old commercial building that is home to the Auto Pavilion, one of the main attractions of the annual Michigan State Fair. With less than three days before opening day, structural supports were in desperate need of structural repairs.
Solution: Use Phoscrete to make repairs to structural members at the main entrance of the building in time for opening day.

Savings Using Phoscrete: Repairs were quickly completed at minimal cost.
Products Applied: Phoscrete 601-P
Method of Installation: Hand ram, trowel finish and Cast-in-place with a slip form.
Equipment Used: Chipping hammers, standard concrete hand finishing tools, electric drill motor with a paddle type mixing blade, and plywood.
Scope of Work: Remove loose concrete with a chipping hammer. Using the mixing paddle, mix Phoscrete 601 P dry aggregate and pre-measured liquid activator in 5 gallon pails. Column Repair: Build a plywood form ¼ of the height of the column. Pour Phoscrete mixture to cast in place. Beam Repair: Hand ram Phoscrete into crevices to reinforce the structure. Trowel finish.

Installation Date: August 2009
Follow Up: All repairs were painted the next day to match the existing building color and the fair opened the following week.
