Bridge fixed with Phoscrete |
Product Being Replaced: Damaged concrete, various cementitious and polymer concrete repair products.
Savings Using Phoscrete: Repair was completed in two hours and the bridge was ready for heavy duty rubber tired traffic 40 minutes after placement.
Products Applied: 16 units of Phoscrete Four-Seasons.
Method of Installation: Poured
Equipment Used: Concrete cutting saw, pneumatic hammers, electric drill motor with a paddle-type mixer, standard concrete finishing tools.
Scope of Work: Removed damaged concrete using jackhammers and saw blade. Area was then cleared of debris. Using paddle mixer, Phoscrete 601 dry-aggregate and pre-measured liquid activator was mixed in 5 gallon pails and poured in place. Minimal finishing was required.
Installation Date: September 2009.
Follow Up: December 2009, bridge was inspected by the WSDOT Bridge Maintenance Superintendent who reported that the installation “looks great.” The repair is holding up exceptionally well with no cracks, and the bonds to the existing concrete remain tight.
