What Makes MPC Different from Ordinary Portland Cement

Ordinary Portland cement (OPC) repairs a bond mechanically to existing concrete. The connection depends on surface prep, moisture conditions, and curing time. MPC bonds chemically. The magnesium phosphate reaction creates a direct chemical link between the repair material and the substrate, including bonding to itself across lifts – eliminating cold joints.

The US Army Corps of Engineers has researched and documented MPC concrete performance for infrastructure repair applications.
